Life is Coming, Art Print

This is my favourite print I’ve ever made. It was inspired by a small park on the Springfield Road in West Belfast, where I’m from. One rainy day in September, I took my nephew there for a walk, and the pond was covered in moss, glowing in that soft post-rain light — it almost looked like a painting already. While he was busy throwing stones into the water, I took a few photographs, knowing I wanted to recreate the scene.

I actually painted this piece three times. The first two just didn’t feel right, but third time lucky — it finally came together, and it’s now my favourite illustration I’ve created.

The quote is something I’d been reflecting on myself, but the words were inspired by Timothée Chalamet in an interview. When I heard him say it, I knew it perfectly captured the feeling of this print.
